A PNG with a transparent background will trace automatically.
A JPG can be manually traced point to point.
Guide Line
Place an object on a high contrast, non reflective surface. Plain white 8.5”x11” printer
paper works well. Ensure that the entire object is within the paper space, it doesn't hurt
to use more than one piece of paper.
Position the object how you would like it to sit in the insert.
Take a photo from directly above the object keeping the camera or phone as parallel
with the top surface of the object as possible to avoid skew in the image as well as
shadows. Using flash on the camera helps reduce shadows.
Upload the picture to your computer and open the image through the Guard Dog App.
Using the Auto Trace feature, click/click & drag on your shape to see the outline be
traced in real time. Adjust the tracing layers by using the slider bar on the right.
If the image is having troubles tracing or you would like to hand trace you can do so by
clicking along the edge of the image to add nodes.
